Master Jerald Carter is the owner/operator and chief Instructor for Carters Martial Arts Institute in Jacksonville Florida.


Master Carter started his training at the age of 13 in Shotokan Karate-Do under the guidance of Master Jerry Williamson. During that time Master Carter was an avid tournament competitor, winning awards for kata, weapons, fighting and breaking.


It was at a tournament where Master Carter met someone who would change his life forever. Grandmaster Jack Hogan came into a local tournament and with him he brought Prof. Wally Jay founder of Small Circle Jujitsu. Grandmaster Hogan demonstrated the hidden art Kyusho Jitsu and how it relates to the techniques within his art. Master Carter made the decision then to continue his training under the watchful eye of Hogan.

He has had the opportunity to train with some of the best martial artists in the world including Wally Jay, Remy Presas, Leon Jay, Jack Hogan and many others.

Master Carter has been a featured instructor at the annual HKI Kyusho camp in Jacksonville, HKI camps in England and Ireland as well as featured on instructional videos that has been circulated world wide. He has taught countless personal self defense seminars and defensive tactics seminars to the Kinglsand Police Dept in Kingsland, Ga. 

Master Carter opened his commercial school in the west side of Jacksonville April of 2011 where he passes on the lessons he has learned to future generations.


Master Carter has had the honor of achieving ranks within the arts of Ryukyu Kempo Tomari-Te, Kyusho Jitsu, Small Circle Jujitsu, Modern Arnis, Tipperary Jujitsu, TLM Fighting Chance Combative's systems.
